| The region Provence - Côte d'Azur has already been settled for thousands of years. So the
different cultures have left their traces. You can explore them when visiting the ruins of the Romans like the Pont du
Gard or the different amphitheaters in Orange or Arles. But also afterwards this culture country was again and again
the heart of history. The popes of the Middle Ages partly resided in Avignon and also Napoleon traversed this region on
his way to Paris. Still today this way is called Route Napoleon.
